The Nonprofit Wrap-Up – February 2017

Wrap Up

We wanted to share with you some nonprofit articles, opinions and resources that caught our eye in the month of February.

Are You Honoring Your Small-Dollar Donors – “Fundraising isn’t about asking rich people for money. Fundraising is about the systems that take your first-time donor…to lifetime donor.”

10 Fundraising Topics You Need to Master in 2017 – “It’s an uncertain environment out there for fundraising these days. So if you want successful fundraising this year, then you need to PERFECT the basics.”

Twenty Ways to Show #DonorLove Every Day – “It shouldn’t take Valentine’s Day or Thanksgiving to remind us to thank or truly “see” our financial supporters. With limited time and resources how do you decide who gets your attention?”

Can Your Organization Pass the Donor-Centered Test? – “The term donor-centered is pretty self-explanatory. It means focusing on your donors’ needs and interests, acknowledging them in your letters and other communication, and taking into account that not all donors are the same.”

Why Aren’t Nonprofits Retaining More Donors – “We know donor retention is abysmal. We also absolutely know from research that if you can renew a first-time donor just once, you’ll increase their chances of giving again from 23% to 60%.”

Bang on. Well curated Cody… Nice list to wrap up the February month. Will read each article. The article why aren’t non profits retaining Donors looks interesting. Nowadays it is important to turn our focus from acquisition to retention. With a static or shrinking donor pool, new donors are more difficult and expensive to attract than ever.
