Tell us about the fundraiser and/or organization you are nominating: The British Heart Foundation (BHF) (campaign by DLKW Lowe)

BHF is the UK’s largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. Their mission is to win the fight against cardiovascular disease and their vision is a world in which people do not die prematurely or suffer from cardiovascular disease.

Tell us about the piece you are nominating:

This piece is a TV and movie theatre spot airing in the UK, titled “Heart disease is heartless.”

Why do you think they are deserving of a Bloomie?

Talk about a gut punch.

In an interview with Jennifer Faull of The Drum, BHF director of marketing and engagement Carolan Davidge said “This campaign marks the start of a long term strategy for BHF to shift the way people think about heart disease. By making people contemplate the unexpected devastation that heart disease causes, we hope to inspire people to donate funds to continue BHF’s lifesaving research.”

Kristen Salmon is a Product Manager at Bloomerang. Kristen holds a Master of Public Affairs degree with concentrations in Nonprofit Management and Policy Analysis from Indiana University Bloomington and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Oklahoma State University. She also worked for two years as a Research Assistant in grad school on the multi-year Indiana Nonprofits: Scope and Community Dimensions project.
