National Hemophilia Foundation - Nebraska Chapter
The Nebraska Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation is dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for bleeding disorders, and to prevent the complications of these disorders through education, advocacy, and research. They have been a vital part of Nebraska communities since 1985.
Challenge
The National Hemophilia Foundation – Nebraska Chapter was looking for a database that was equally user-friendly for constituents and donors, was inclusive, and had ease-of-use for small organizations with very few staff.
“The ability to make changes in the database on our own was key, instead of having to contact the hosting company,” said Kristi Harvey-Simi, Manager of Chapter Development. “Reporting and pulling information from the database that was accurate was not easy for us on our previous system.”
Solution
Kristi was originally drawn to Bloomerang because of the intuitiveness of the platform, and the ease of learning to utilize the database without additional training.”
It is the most comprehensive donor database that you can find. In addition, it is the most cost-effective option for smaller nonprofits.
“Following Nebraska’s success, multiple chapters adopted Bloomerang, including Idaho, Colorado, West Virginia, Nevada, Hawaii, and Northern California.”
“We are now actually tracking constituents and donors! We have the ability to record participation, interactions, etc. that we could not have tracked in the past.”
Results
“Because of the ease of use, our chapters are actually utilizing the database. In previous years, we had databases, but they were not being utilized to their fullest potential. So there is no point in having a platform if it is so unusable that it sits there and has no purpose. We really have found nothing at this point that Bloomerang cannot do or accommodate for us.”
