The Bloomerang blog publishes Insights, updates, and articles for nonprofits and fundraising professionals. Our blog is active and dynamic with three new articles published each week on a range of topics important to nonprofit professionals. Our content ranges from evergreen to timely topics. And our authors are a mix of employees and guest bloggers from the nonprofit community. If you are interested in guest blogging, read on to discover topics covered, best practices, and how to initiate an article submission. We look forward to working with you!

Guest contributors

Bloomerang accepts article submissions from thought leaders in the nonprofit sector with a mix of diverse viewpoints and formats (we value an array of copy and images, videos, or graphics to really hit your message home!). Our readers are a blend of nonprofit professionals, consultants, and other nonprofit technology companies. Blog posts should focus on best practices, case studies, or other information that would be viewed as educational to nonprofit professionals, fundraisers, and volunteer managers. Please do not submit overtly promotional or solicitous content as these pieces will not be accepted. Our blog is a place for those (like us) who want to build a world inspired by giving through helpful topics, new ideas, and supportive resources.

Blog guidelines and best practices

The following is a short list of suggested requirements for crafting an article for publication on Bloomerang.com:

  • The desired minimum length for an article is 750 words.
  • Readability and skimability is critical as our readers are busy. Easily digestible points or concepts perform well, such as bulleted lists or numbered sections.
  • Breaking up copy with images, graphics, videos, and other visual media is encouraged. Providing text to accompany any assets you submit is encouraged.
  • Each article will incorporate a mix of relevant internal (Bloomerang) and external links. These links should be used to credit data sources.
  • All content should be completely original and not previously published elsewhere. You should also have the rights to any additional assets you include with your article. Repurposing content to/from slide decks, books, etc. is acceptable.

The process

Now let’s dig into how to become a guest blogger for Bloomerang.

  1. Express your interest in submitting a blog to Kristen Hay, Marketing Manager. Indicate your topic of expertise and share a link to your professional website and/or published work. Kristen can be reached at [email protected].
  2. Kristen will review your blog topic in tandem with our content calendar. If your blog idea/submission is accepted, she will share with you the complete list of blog guidelines and best practices.
  3. You will craft an article (or multiple articles) and submit a bio and headshot to be used alongside your published article.
  4. Kristen will communicate with you the publication date so that you can amplify your article across your network.
  5. Your article will be published on Bloomerang.com, shared in our weekly newsletter, and amplified across our social media channels.

Our content team reserves the right to modify your article content or title to better serve our readers. You will be informed of any major changes that are made. In the rare cases when we have modified guest content, the changes are typically geared towards the format/layout, and not the content itself.

Providing quality, helpful, and actionable content is at the heart of the Bloomerang blog. And we couldn’t do it without thought leaders like you. Bloomerang values the relationships we have with our guest bloggers and we’re excited for the opportunity to widen our network. We look forward to working with you!
