How to Get CEOs and Boards to Embrace Year End Fundraising
 
In this session, nonprofit leaders will be reminded that the last quarter of the year is huge for fundraising. With #GivingTuesday and holiday volunteering and gifts, some organizations yield as much as 30 percent of their revenue in December. Now is the time to review plans to execute a robust and appealing year end campaign with traditional and digital methods to optimize donations.

Speaker Christal M. Cherry
Christal M. Cherry, The Board Pro, worked for 23 years as a nonprofit fundraiser serving higher education institutions, seminaries, and human service organizations. Now a nonprofit board consultant, she equips and empowers boards to support their missions and change the world. Her services as Principal and CEO of the Board Pro, include recruitment, governance, fundraising, conflict resolution, diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging. Christal earned a MA in Counseling from Hampton University, a BA in Liberal Arts from Hofstra University, and professional development certifications in nonprofit leadership, social media fundraising, and nonprofit management. She is a contributing author to Collecting Courage, a collection of first-person narratives from Black fundraisers documenting their experiences with racism in the nonprofit sector. In 2021, Christal authored her first children’s book, Mac and Cheez, Being Different is Okay which is available on Amazon.
Speaker Taylor Shanklin
Taylor is a TEDx speaker, podcast host + producer, and marketing innovator in the social impact sector. Taylor is the Founder and CEO of Barlele, a brand and marketing strategy firm that helps businesses and nonprofit organizations grow through clear storytelling, branding, and unlimited graphic design subscription services with the Creative Shizzle service. She has helped hundreds of organizations tell their story in digital channels. Taylor lives in North Carolina with her husband, two children, and a dachshund named Lady. In her free time, she loves to swim, ski, and hike and also spends a lot of time chasing Lady around because that dog always has something in her mouth that she shouldn’t.
Host Josh Meyer
Josh Meyer brings more than 20 years of fundraising, volunteer management, and marketing experience to his current role as the VP, Demand Generation for Bloomerang. Currently, as a member of the Bloomerang marketing team, Josh manages all organization’s growth marketing efforts. Through his previous roles at the Human Rights Campaign and OneCause, he has a passion for helping to create positive change and helping nonprofits engage new donors and achieve their fundraising goals.
