United Way of Midland was looking to make the switch to a versatile donor management system that could make reporting and data cultivation easier. “We needed flexibility in reporting and data cultivation,” said Paige Vickery, Director of Finance at United Way of Midland, Inc.
Paige quickly found that Bloomerang’s reporting functionality could fill that need for them. They were originally drawn to Bloomerang because they could “create the exact reports needed, and create custom fields in constituent and transaction spaces.” According to Paige, “the reporting and email/letter functions have been amazing!” All-in-all Bloomerang has fit nicely into United Way Midland’s gift development processes by giving them unencumbered access to their clean and organized donor data. “[Bloomerang] provides the ability to account for the data that we need without the things we don’t need. There is no fluff, it’s straight to the point with data entry and development.”
In addition to Bloomerang’s feature set, Paige touts its donor-focused functionality, intuitiveness, and ease of use as another reason to recommend it as a top donor database option to other United Way affiliates like theirs. “Bloomerang is all you need and then some. If you know what you need to track, there is a way to track with and pull it through individualized reports without the difficulty of coding and waiting for someone else to create a report for you.”
Since implementing Bloomerang, United Way of Midland has alleviated several fundraising pain points around reporting. “Not having to code or pay for basic reports” that they needed was crucial, and has directly influenced their donor cultivation and retention efforts.
Not only have they seen improvements with keeping “track of trends and giving history,” but Paige and the team at United Way of Midland have also benefited from improvements in their productivity and the quality of their constituent communications — especially through the pandemic. “Productivity and efficiency have increased drastically among staff. Communication with donors virtually over a pandemic has been easy through Bloomerang.”
All in all, it’s amazing what an insightful, intuitive, and donor-focused database can do for the growth of an organization such as United Way of Midland. “We have loved our time working in Bloomerang.
