Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living.
Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of the Columbia-Midlands was looking for a reliable and easy-to-use donor management solution that could track the data that’s most important to them, while also keeping all their donor data accessible and easy to report on. “We wanted to track our donors’ giving,” said Craig Hess, a board member at Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Columbia-Midlands.
At first glance, Craig and the team thought they needed a donor database that flaunted bells and whistles and a long list of features, but they’ve since come to realize that usability can be just as important as features. “At first we were looking for which CRM had the most features. As we went through the process we decided it was equally important to choose a CRM that was easy to learn.”
After getting a recommendation “by a Development Director at a local college,” they knew that Bloomerang’s combination of intuitiveness and unique and robust feature-set was exactly what they needed.
Since implementing Bloomerang, CEF of the Columbia-Midlands has benefited from how well it fits into and enhances its donor retention and gift development processes. Their donor segmentation and communication have greatly improved, especially when it comes to campaigns targeted to major and first-time donors. “It enables us to quickly see who our large donors are and to be reminded to stay in communication with them specifically, and all donors generally.”
Having access to this data and donor retention metrics has empowered the development team at CEF of the Columbia-Midlands to be more targeted with improving their donor retention rate by focusing on first-time donors. They now have data at their fingertips to help them move “first-time donors to repeat donors.”
All in all, it’s amazing what an insightful, intuitive, and donor-focused database can do for the growth of an organization such as CEF Columbia-Midlands. “The people at Bloomerang were kind and persistent.”
