Recently, I ran into the folks from Nonprofit Hub at the 2013 AFP International Conference on Fundraising in San Diego California. We chatted about a number of topics, one of which was the importance of donor communications. Effective donor communications is something we take seriously here, and it’s why we brought on Tom Ahern as our Donor Communications Head Coach.

Video Transcript:

NPHub: Besides donor retention, what are some other tools we can look at using?

Jay: Well, I think communications is the next thing, and it directly affects the retention. So it all sort of comes back full circle. But if you can think about how you’re communicating with somebody and making it personal and real and talking to them about what their dollars are being used for, that makes all the difference in the world to that individual.
