It’s no secret that hundreds of nonprofits are using Bloomerang to manage their database of donors and supporters. But did you know that it’s also a great tool for optimizing your outbound communications?
Watch the video below to see how the executive director of the Lawrence Township School Foundation uses the communication tools in Bloomerang:
Cori Karn: Hi, my name is Cori Karn, and I’m the executive director of the
Lawrence Township School Foundation.
We serve about 15,000 students. Our population is very diverse, and our
programs that we fund start all the way in Pre-K and go all the way through
high school. We are very proud of the fact that we are able to touch every
grade level within our district. With that, our district is one of need.
Our primary fundraising outlet is to work with individual donors and in
continuing to build that. That’s why our data base management system is
very important to us. We are excited that we choose Bloomerang. The
services that they provide are outstanding to us. They’re very responsive
and very receptive.
We love to use the communication tools within Bloomerang and specifically
enhance our communications by using Ahern Audit, not only in our thank you
letters to make sure we have the right ratio of use to ease and that it’s
at the right reading level, but we’ve used it with articles that we put in
our E-newsletters. We put our mission statement into there.
We had some concerns about our mission statement, and when we put it
through the Ahern Audit, it came out as a tenth grade reading level. We
really are looking at that currently, and in our upcoming board meeting,
we’re going to be discussing revamping our mission statement to still be
true to our mission, but be more universal and very well understood by all
An executive director juggles many balls throughout the day, and we never
have enough time in a day. So to be able to go into the system, have it be
so user friendly, is very welcoming, and “Love it!”
