For the second year in a row, Bloomerang has been named a finalist for “Tech Startup of the Year” from TechPoint‘s Mira Awards! TechPoint is Indiana’s technology initiative focused on being a powerful voice for Indiana’s tech sector through marketing and thought leadership, and being a catalyst for strategic growth initiatives.

MiraMira — Latin for miracle and a variable star thousands of times brighter than the sun — represents the best of tech in Indiana each year. TechPoint received a record-breaking 170 applications, which is a 40 percent increase in applications over just last year, and nearly half of the applications this year came from first-time companies, schools, organizations and individuals who had never before entered the Mira Awards. Mike Langellier, president and CEO of TechPoint, said that the dramatic increase is another positive indicator of the strength and momentum of Indiana’s tech sector.

“The Mira Awards are the biggest stage for tech in Indiana and a harbinger of future growth as much as they are a celebration of recent achievements,” Langellier said. “Every year the community comes together through TechPoint’s awards program to recognize excellence, innovation and success, and it’s worth noting that almost all of the major tech companies in Central Indiana that were acquired or went public since 2007, are also past Mira Award nominees and winners. That’s the particular brand of strength and momentum that the Mira Awards represent.”
